Colonel Oliver Stanley to refer to the correspondence ending with my letter of the 2nd October last, (your reference No.K.7717/6625/245), regarding the expenditure incurred by His Majesty'e Consul General, Manila, in connection with the evacuation of civilians from Hong Kong and to request you to inform Mr. Secre ary Eden that, after consultation with the Departments concerned, it has been arreed that this expenditure should be charged to the Colonial Office Vote of Credit account subject to refund from the War Office of items 3,4 and 5 of the Consul General's Claim, amounting to Pesos 167,876.50. The necessary adjustment with the War Office will be arranged by this Office. Accordingly His Majesty's Paymaster General is now being requested to transfer from
